spray on gasket?

at the parts store the other day while I was waiting my turn in line, I saw a display of permatex spray on gasket. From what I read on the can, you can use this instead of their RTV type stuff in the tubes. anyone had any experience with it? I've always had pretty good luck with the blue, black and gray RTV, depending on where I was using it. this stuff almost looks too good to be true..........

EDIT: my apologies, I realize after posting this I should have put it in the repair and maintenance section, won't hurt my feelings if a mod moves it

If you're talking about the aerosol stuff like HI-tack, I really like it in certain places.
It holds gaskets in place quite well, and it doesn't squish out and make a mess to get into oil, hydraulics, etc.
It doesn't fill imperfections as well, but the bad part is when you have to take it off.
I normally use it on one side only and leave the other dry.

(quoted from post at 11:02:04 08/19/13) I use spray-on "Copper Coat" on everything.

instead of a gasket or to hold the gasket in place? I guess that's my real question.

if you have some seepage around a plate, instead of taking the plate off and putting in a new gasket, can you spray some of that on to seal it?
