This morning when I fed the new colt Patches Mom Coco her grain Patches was trying to nurse. I couldn't get to the feed dish without taking a chance of causing Coco of stepping on Patches. I picked up the dish and moved to the other side of the pen so Coco could step past Patches. I put one scoop in the dish and dipped the second scoop and was gently pushing on Coco's head to make room to dump the feed with out it going in the bedding when patches kicked me in the back of the leg with both feet. His kick was not hard enough to hurt but struck me cute and funny. When I turned around I see I was standing where he was having a problem getting his nose under Coco to nurse. I let him nurse while I finished feeding and then picked him up and rocked him for about five minutes. When I put him back in the pen he kicked into the air with both back feet. I would say Patches has his macho back.
