John Deere 2640 Neutral Safety Switch

I am trying to replace the neutral safety switch in this 2640. I bought the RE38390 switch kit and am trying to make sense of the directions. I am guessing I need to replace the pin in the trans, since I have the round headed pin. The directions call for R98941. I have no idea what a TSS trans is, but it is open station utility less than the serial number 669,698. Am I on the right track? Thanks

TSS is the standard Dubuque 8 speed twin-stick trans with synchronizers on the top shaft. Some of the older ones were not sychronized.

I agree with jdemaris that TSS stands for top syncronizer shaft BUT I think TSS wasn't offered until the 50 series models. When R98941 is inserted in the 2640 "Part Number Search" then this shows up "No search results found". Have you tried just replacing the switch? Does switch have continuity when trans is in neutral?
