706 gas t/a - tranny issue, need help

Schu

I have a 706 gas that I purchase that has an issue. I put a new clutch in it and was going to make all the adjustments but the oil light didn't work so i ran a wire etc to get it to work, however the light never goes off. so i put a gauge in where the sensor was on the MCV and i get zero psi at any rpm. the T/A seems to work but slips a bit in low side under a load. Is this a bad T/A or could it be something in the MCV or pump on MCV ? Any help Appreciated.

Schu, We have a 706 gas but so far (knock on wood) we havnt had the issues you describe. Others here on this form can best advise and help you resolve your problem. Regards LOU.

The TA one way clutch must be out or going out or it would not slip in TA reduction. It is mechanical. There must be some MCV pressure or many things would not work. Clean the MCV components and check the MCV pump. Over fill the Hytran by several gallons to see if it is a pump intake issue. Jim

Make sure the dump valve (the horizontal spool above the pressure sender) is fully seating in the MCV. If you have no lube pressure with the valve all the way in you will need to do a pressure check of the MCV system to see what is going on.

ok I checked the psi in the lower plug, I have the same psi about 290 in TA and in direct and it does drop about 15 in "middle" position. still no lube pressure thou. I started it up, held the brakes on and tried to slip the TA and the clutchs in direct and it will run with the clutch pedal all the way out but it will kill the engine after 5-7 seconds in direct, in TA it may have gone for 20 seconds before killing, didn't go that far. just not sure if I should go through the MCV. I think I have the clutch adjusted pretty close to the book and specs from forum listing... anything come to mind for this issue? thanks !
