That is all nice looking, well cared for equipment. I don't see any moisture on the tires mowing at 6am. Must be arid in your area. In my area of MN I am now waiting until noon for the dew to be off to do any hay work.

Looks like "haylage" in a day to me. 'Cut at 6:00 am? Wow, around here, it would be wringing wet with dew. Sure is nice to not have to worry about leaving it out to dry! Your silage wagons look interesting to me. Are they dump beds, rear unload? Show us pictures of your silo where you store this feed. Did you rake two windrows together prior to chopping?

Just no dew on this morning, rained that night! And yes those are dump wagons, all haylage and corn silage goes into a pit. And these are true pit silos, I just dug a trench 70 feet long into a hill behind the barn. One for hay, one for corn. They go from zero to 14 feet deep and are 40 feet wide, with earth sides and a cement floor. I built these when I bought this farm in 2004, and will be filling them for the tenth time, this year. Works very well, and cheap. My total cost for both pits was $8500.00 , including cement and excavtion. Bruce

Wet bales Bison,358 so far this year, sell 2-300 dry horse hay, and about 500 bales of straw. I guess next week I will get to find out how net wrap works on the straw. Just in for lunch now , and I am heading out to combine mixed grain. Maybe the wife will come by and snap some pics. Bruce

What is "mixed grain"? I've never heard that term used before.
Thank you in advance.

There's so much demand for straw around here that a custom operator bales all of mine. I don't think they would do it without the net. Wheat straw baled a month ago is still not all picked up as it's been so wet!
