Sprayer GPS

I"m still counting rows when I spray. I stumbled
upon this smart phone app that allows you to enter
your boom width and then it uses the gps in your
phone to show you where you have sprayed.

Anyone use anything like this? Looks promising
because I don"t want to spend thousands on a fancy
GPS system. Of course im a tightwad and don"t want
to waste 5 bucks if it isn"t any good either.

I can't address that. I have what I imagine is the bottom end, CaseIH E-Z Guide. It has the big antenna that's supposed to make it accurate to a few inches.
I still count corn rows, and even try to follow small grain lines, even when burning down an old stubble. Sometimes this thing disagrees enough with where I'm going that I still trust the straight lines I can see more.
I don't regret getting it. I bought it used. I can't imagine how anything less is going to be as accurate.

I have been using an app for snow skiers that overlays their day's skiing onto google maps. It was obviously not designed for spraying, but it works pretty good for me. This app should work a lot better.

I have an iPhone GPS app that is supposed to locate my car in a parking lot. It's totally inaccurate and useless.

There's no way it's very accurate. While the proper GPS equipment may be overpriced, it can't be replaced with a smart phone. The best the receiver in a phone can do is (--MAYBE--) 5 feet. I don't think any phones are even WAAS capable. In the description, it says: "Use with Caution" Phone and Tablet gps providers can be off bt meters.

For the money, if you just want to know where you've been & where your going, get a Raven Cruzer
(misspelled) Real simple to run &the price won't kill you.
