What do you guys grow out there? Is it iron that makes the soil so red? We took my daughter to OU this past weekend. Didn't see many cattle and few crops except grass. Nice vistas on I-44. Lots of rolling hills as compared to the flatter eastern portion. Traveled 984 miles from our garage to OU.

I would say mostly winter wheat, grass for hay or grazing cattle. Welcome to Oklahoma.

We have plenty of red dirt, sand in E. Tx, too.

Warn your daughter, the stuff can stain you clothes, etc.
