My wife's uncle, Harold McGraw would drive or have someone drive his Cadillac convertible in the parade. He used to be a conductor on the GM&O. Was a real character. His brother was mayor of Bloomington, a little more refined.

Great pictures. That red and white Ford Crown Vic is really sharp even though my fav is a 57 Chev, red and white. Thanks.

Thanks for the pictures. I never get tired of seeing old cars. When I was a kid the 55's and 56's were all over the place in the school parking lot. Sure miss those times.

That 1960 Red Chevy Impala is same as the one I bought new, except mine was a convertible with a white top! Had to keep a stick in that car with me to keep the girls away. ;>))

Sigh,, they just don't make 'em like that anymore! Back then every brand had its own design studios and they all looked different. They had personality, and you could tell what brand it was from half mile away! Now most cars look like they were made with a cookie cutter.

nice pics, i had a olf frind back in the late 70's he obtained a 57 2dr hardtop chevy with no engine or trans , on a whim to be different he dropped in a 454 and 4 speed manual trans then used this to pull a trailer with his old slingshot dragster to the races! pretty cool

Guy in school in the mid-60's got a '55 Chev in the same color combination (salmon and charcoal, for lack of the proper color names). His grandma gave it to him, it was in terrific shape. He was pretty proud of if. Then totaled it the first weekend he had it. So much for that.
