Here are a couple of shots of this years bean crop here in Central Kansas. This particular field is heavy with clay, and pretty much on top of a hill. Some of the poorest ground we have. Just shows you what a little rain will do. I had this field in beans last year and due to heat and drought it wasn't worth cutting. What a difference a year makes. These beans are loaded with pods, and still blooming. Keep in mind this is the drylands of KS, so not the topnotch soil you guys East of me enjoy..lol! Bob

I went across southern Kentucky last week from Renfro Valley through Somerset and Monticello to Albany. I saw some of the best beans I've ever seen in my life. They were as tall as the woven wire fence around the field.

I hear ya! I mean hill ground vs our black bottom ground. Not hills that some of you are used to for sure.

Actually I did double crop about 75 acres into wheat stubble. They are coming along slow. Actually need the sun to bring them along. The frost will have to hold off a little if they are going to make it. I planted them around the 10th of July.

That what our double crop beans need!!! They are pale and have stopped growing from soooo much water and almost total lack of sun. Usually they are stunted from lack of water this time of year.

Your beans look better than some of the beans in my neck of the woods here in NWIA. A friend flew me over probably half of our county this afternoon and there are a lot of drowned out spots you don't see from the road. Lots of prevented planting too. Jim
