Trying to get info on this Deere & Mansur that I have found on my grandparents farm that I now have. If anyone knows anything about this company let me know.

And mot of those results are totally irrelevant to "deere mansur".

Search engines try to steer you to all kinds of commercial and otherwise useless sites that have nothing to do with the item being searched for.

Did you look at the first few results? Seemed pretty relevant to me- timeline of the Deere Co. (including when John's son Charles teamed up with Mansur), a history of the company, pics of their products, etc. Didn't see any commercial stuff on the first page.

While we're on the subject, it didn't seem like YOUR answer added much to the discussion, did it?

I have a book somewhere around here that had something about that in it. Deere was a blacksmith who invented a plow that would scour in prairie soils. As the company grew, Waterloo boy was added for tractors, Mansur for planters, Killefer for discs, and van Brunt for drills. Just all part of an early history of how the names in the equipment we know today evolved.
