Vermeer 504 G round baler

I am a young hay baler and I have a late 70 or maybe early to id 80s Vermeer 504 G. it gives me problems here and there but usually I can figure it out, this time the pickup bar is loced up. the PTO will not turn it and I cant turn it forward or reverse. bad thing is I already have hay on the ground and so repairing this problem is crucial. I do not want to bother anyone but I am new at the farming lifestyle. I would appreciate any help. reply on this website or my [email protected] 277 0842 is my cell...any of those ways are appreciated..thanks

Probably the dogs in the pickup reel are binding this use to happen on the 605 C on the ends of the pickup reel bearings bolted on each bar run in a track to keep the teeth at the right pitch or angle if one comes out and starts to run on the outside it gets stuck Try turning the pickup reel backwards by hand with a pry bar to get it back in the track or a bearing could be out and the bar is getting stuck
