Visited New Deer agricultural show with a couple of my tractors and was lucky enough to park alongside a Massy I had never seen before. I think it must be some gardening model, never got a chance to talk to the owner but definately something interesting.
The show theme this year was Claas, there were green machines old and new everywhere. I took some pictures of the older combines entering the parade field.

Hi, Bill

I assume you are talking about the small garden tractor. While perusing the local ads this tractor was listed today, similar to the larger M-F in the photo, but a LP model, can't say I've ever seen one of these before.

Hi Billy
Yes the MF 97FWA and the 1155 are mine. I contacted that guy with the propane 97 to ask if he would mind sending me a couple of pictures of the 3pnt as I have never seen one before but I guess he didnt want to as Ive never had a reply. I fancy having a 3 pnt on mine, these tractors are very rare here in Scotland.

Glad I posted it, sometimes people are friendly, I asked a seller of a 2000 that looked original several months back about a dealer sticker on it, it was hazy in the photo, but turned out it was sold new by us, way back when, some are friendly, others are wary of tire kickers I suppose, but you never know maybe he will call, most who are involved with old tractors are usually friendly and cordial. I saw the other country side photos, very nice, what is the weather like in the summer on your side of the pond ? I've always wondered about that, have an idea of the highlands, I recall an episode of man vs wild with bear grylls, was quite interesting terrain.

Bill, as far as I know that is a Gutbrod tractor built for Massey Ferguson and it belongs to one of our Friends of Ferguson Heritage members. I can find out more if you like?

That F reg Matador must be one of the latest as it is painted in the 'new' Claas green. The story goes that a lot of MF combine enthusiasts laughed when they heard about these "Arse- winkel" ( Harsewinkel) Claas Matador combines coming in from Germany trying to steal the market, that is until they got to try one or see one working and then realised that they made their own MF 780 /788 seem pretty pathetic in comparison! The old Matador was an excellent combine although I heard the replacement 'Senator' was not so good.

Hi Bill, nice photos. Must try and get to a Scottish tractor show next year. I do a lot of tractor ring parade commentries and the furthest north I get is the Newby Hall one for the Yorkshire lads. A friend of mine has a MF97 four wheel drive like yours he also has a MF1080 four wheel drive as well. MJ

We are off to Pickering Steam Fair tomorrow morning so hoping for some good weather. Are you an MF man or are you happy with all colours? Did your friend have to do any work or get parts for the 97 front axle, I need a pair of rubber boots for the pivot joints?
Bill

Thought all the 97's had a 3 point as well as the 95's and one is an Oliver while the other is a Moline, just cannot remember witch is witch. A friend has both.

Hi Bill, I am a IH, Ford and David Browm as my favorits but have to know about all tractors with doing so many ring commentries. Nothing worse than taking a tractor a long way to a show only to find the commentator has got it all wrong. On the sunday at Newby Hall show I started commentating on the tractors at 10-30 in the morning and finished at 4-00 in the afternoon with only one small break. They have asked me back for next year so we must have got it right. Will look at my friends MF97 and see if I can help you with the boots, enjoy your weekend. MJ

Hi Bill, That would be my little Massey ELF. They was sold as an Industrial tractor in Germany in the 60's and as Samn40 says are based on a Gutbrod which Massey then put their tinwork and badges on. I found it quite funny the way things worked out with the parking with the biggest Massey next to the smallest
