Where you located Jim?

Great Pictures.

In Illinois we had a lot of weeds in the wheat because it was too wet this spring to get the fields sprayed.

I hear ya on the weeds.

Gonna start puttin' mine on the ground tomorrow so it can dry out. Just couldn't see pourin' a bucketful of spray money in a crop that wasn't there to begin with.

Probably run 'er thru the combine on Thursday.

I have a windrow pickup for the 30 I have never used it looks brand new yet. This old #30 does an amazing job in weeds. There are some spots the clover is as tall as the wheat and thick and it still gives a clean sample. Jim

Your pictures bring back childhood memories. Our neighbor who farmed about 400 acers was also the local JD dealer.I remember his brand new 70 running his new JD combine like yours. He had new JD barge box wagons hooked together and pulled them with another 70 to haul the wheat crop to the on farm bin. All his tractors had narrow fronts on them though like most of the other farmers in our area had. We always had Little bit of everything with nothing matching up like all his Deere equipment did. I always envied him. Thanks for posting them.

I had a JD 30 like that at one time, pulled it with a JD A. They do a good job in wheat, but then wheat is what combines were first designed to harvest.

What year is that combine? We had a new one that looked like that, about 1960 maybe, only thing on the farm that wasn't IH.
