Hay season done canning season just started

Well done with the first cutting of hay but that means canning season is starting. Just put up 6 quarts of spiced apple rings this afternoon. Have almost enough tomato's to do salsa so that will be next after the peach preserves tomorrow

Wife is just finishing 54 pints of green beans. Peas next but no bumper crop there. I took a couple days to bind the oats for trhashing later at steam show. Raining today. Got to get them shocked real quick so they can dry out. Then back to the haying - three more fields plus whatever second cutting that may come on. Lack of rain may have ended that.

I am still trying to get the first cut hay, 100 acre in the bale, 50 acre on the ground for last two weeks(keeps getting washed every other day).
350 acre still standing.
And then we have a zillion grasshoppers to boot :roll:

Been giving green beans away since the family does not like them canned. Thinking about freezing some but need to find room in the freezer to do that.
As for rain was where getting dusty dry here till today and we got a nice slow rain all day but only around an inch

make some jars of dilly beans,you might like them,we froze some string beans ,they are not too bad,Did you get any kale to grow?

I think I have some Kale growing but do not know what to do with it LOL
