JD 4010 3 point

If you shorten the PTO shaft, then the implement will work on John Deere only. You might try a 3-pt quick coupler. They extend the hitch points an inch or two. I know what you mean about the JD short 3-point arms. I have a 4030, a 3010 and a 2640 all with short little 3-pt arms. The implements that don't work on these deeres work on the Ints, ACs, Mahindras, Fords. So I refuse to alter ,say, a mower shaft just for the short few. I guess that is another reason the Deeres often just sit in the shed.

Go over to Deeres website and open up the parts book for the 4010. I beleave it is like the 3010, and the bottom links can be extended, if they arnt rusted to badly.
IRC that is how I relized the length of the 3 pt on our 3010 was adjustible, and for the same reason as you- pto driven implement s PTO shaft was too long with the 3pt arms all the way in. Once we adjusted them longer, the set up worked- intill a sepeerate un related problem appered.

Sounds like August is trying to put a cat 1 implement on a cat 2 tractor, will have to take a sway block off also because the arms won't go close enough either. chris
