John Deere a

There's not much to learn. The cyclone A's and B's got that nickname from Deere's advertising about a change in the design of the head on late styled A and B tractors. A serial# 584000 & up and B serial# 201000 & up. A ramp around the intake valves was advertised as creating a "cyclone" in the fuel/air mixture to give greater power.

I can send you a scan of a page from a JD brochure that describes it and has a picture.

My e-mail is open...drop me a line so I'll have your e-mail address if you want it.

Funny thing is the ads didn't start until the pressed frame tractors, but the B had the exact same cylinder head back to 1941 ! The A was of similar design too back then but not the exact same interchangable part number.
