single wheel front end on farmall m

i bought a light wieght single wheel for my farmall m and im wanting to know if i could just go to the parts store and buy a set of wheel bearings for it

Take the bearing set with you. On the side of the inner race there should be some numbers they can cross reference. If the truth be known, there are only about ten bearing sizes that are most common to most farm machinery. And the more uncommon ones aren't too hard to find.

Agreed, take sample and you shold be able to find. For us, that usially meas a trip to the local brearing belt and chain place, dont know where you are at, so I cant gerentee your results, but samples always help.

look in your yellow pages for a local bearing supplier.

I used to always try the auto parts stores, but around here, unless you know the exact year and model of the CAR you're looking for parts for, you're COMPLETELY out of luck.

I finally tried a bearing place I knew of in the city - I never knew they sold to the general public - always assumed they were more business to business, high quantity sales. Just never really thought about it.

So glad I decided to stop in!!! Now I can take virtually any bearing or seal there and they'll have a match for it in a few minutes, without a bunch of ridiculous questions, AND for less money than I'd pay if I COULD find it at a parts store.

I'm embarrassed that I've lived for so long without knowing this!
