MUD SEASON AGAIN

Thunder storm gave us 2 inches of rain on Thursday evenning and 11/4 last night with high winds. There are water puddles in all my fields and some of the corn is twisted and bent.
Got most of the hay done but still have about 25 acres left to do. Only needed 2 more days but God knows best.
The corn stll looks good and if the land will dry down it still could be a good crop. Last year it was too dry and now too wet but I keep hoping for the best. I guess that means I am a farmer.

Getting some much needed rain today - not coming down too hard, no wind. We really need it, 50% chance for more tomorrow.

I got .35 today. First rain we've had in ten days or so. Seems like for the two weeks or so before that, for all the TIMES that it rained we were only getting from .1 to .2 at a time.

Haven't had any in at least three weeks here in my part of NWIA. Come to think of it we had .25 a month ago and that's about it. Jim

Dribbling on me too. I was mowing fencelines all day, and when I went around the pond I noticed it was down about a foot and a half.

My friend said some of the old timers talk of the drought of 47. Wettest spring on record, then June 13th it stopped raining and did not until the next year.

Ya right now here at the Lake we are hurting for rain. Creeks are low again and the fields are drying up. If a person has hay out still it is to dry to bale with out maybe catching the field on fire

Missed me again. Sprinked just enough to back me off my tractor repair. Wiring harness shorted out. At least 4 wires burned up for a distance of about three inches. Unfortuantely in an almost inaccessable spot. All I wanted to do was move the baler over to the pole barn to work on it. Now I gotta fix tractor, and still have the baler repair still hanging.
