Going out of my mind

This past year I have taken on a project that has really got me going out of my mind. I have a basket case Skid steer loader that I have been restoreing. I had found that I need to put a subport beam back in to the rear of this and I need strong metal to put in that area. Qestion can a car frame metal be used to run across between the two bucket arm subport? Is car frame metal strong enough or shall I order harden steel for that. What do you think I should do. Thanks.

I would probably just use standard mild steel square tubing. You don't want hard steel as it is more likely to crack. What machine is it? That would help to recommend what to use.

Post a pic of what you are doing. Car frames are frequently hard steel, that's why they can be so thin. But that can cause problems with welding if you don't know how to do it. Most of the skid loader is made from mild steel so you should use that if possible. If you could post a pic or give a better description of what you are trying to accomplish it would be easier to give accurate advice.
