JD #40 kicker

I had a customer machine do that a few years ago, if my brain is working right there was an orifice in the valve or line going from the valve to the kicking cylinder - I think it is item 13 in the picture. If that is OK then it could be the detent on the valve worn or sticking.

hello
Also check that the control linkage isn't binding and that cam that pushes the control valve in neutral is pushing the valve lever all the way out to the neutral postion.

Thanks guys Im going to ckeck it out in the morning. I ju st baled 1400 with it this afternoon, it does it like every 4th or 5th bale. with it slamming like that I don't want to break th arm to the pan or something. It's been a busy week here in Northern New York supposed to be 90 again tomorrow. Make hay while the sun shines.

All the springs in the trip latch mechanism OK? Sounds like it is barely resetting at the end of a trip and sometimes doesn't.

Couple years ago a friend's kicker was giving him a real bad time. He kept adjusting to no avail. Finally he called the dealer out, and the tech dissassembled and cleaned the control valve. That fixed it.
