Hi Guys,

Sure wanted to be done with hay by the 15th, but with all this rain, I'm just not gonna make it.

Got another squawl last night, but amounting to only a tenth. Should be able to go until noon today.

Long summer,

Allan

Allan , here in S.E. Indiana it has been over a month that we could get in the hay field . Seems to rain everyday , I will need to cut 2nd alfalfa before I can finish 1st cutting of grass , the alfalfa is 2 weeks over due. All the rain we have had and the creeks are still not running much above normal , the water table must really be low . This time last yr. we was in a drought and temps in the 100s . Fingers crossed , they say it is going to stop raining thursday , then wont be able to buy a drop of rain again till Oct.

No measurable rain here in 2 weeks, we were wet in the spring and corn went in middle of may and beans early to mid June. No need to say that with this hot and very dry weather they look stressed. Send some rain to Kansas.

The green and yellow continue to march across the Northeast radar. We had our third predicted three day stretch last week, and rain is forecast for 8 of the next 10 days.

Had a couple fair rains this spring and early summer, but its really dry here again. The drought continues. Hay crop is only a little better than last year. Eating lots of dirt here. Please send some of that rain down this way.

We had a very pleasant, cool spring in E. Tx this year. But summer is here. Now its hot and dry. Humidity is down this year, too. Grass has stopped growing and things are withering. No rain in the 10 day. We could sure use some.

One thing is for sure, it appears you got a nice green crop off the field so far, recalling in years past, of other photos, even those of that grass you baled that just grows on the prairie, better than snowballs, sure is nice to feed em that nice stuff, that's the one part I liked the best, lots of things with putting up hay not to like, feeding rich green hay and watching em enjoy it makes it worth while !

Those sure are some nice straight windrows. Some of my rake hands could not drive in a straight line for 100 yards. Looks like good hay also.

Allen it has been over a month since I baled any hay here in central Ky. the linewrappers are a lifesaver this year,no I don't have one. BTW Where is the end of that windrow? I don't think my old baler would last for a whole round in that field!
