Where's Thomas and Percy? Canadians need those manned railway signal boxes again... a train with no one on it took off by itself and distroyed a small town in Quebec. It would be a funny cartoon except for the death and distruction..
Those cows in front in the last picture?? Are those 'black Irish'????

Sam,
Pictures were beautiful, and a delight to this family.Only thing I ask, MORE PICTURES PLEASE.I would like to see inside (examples) restaurants and pubs, hardware, and grocery stores, implement dealers lots, if any are nearby.Your pictures graphically display differences in our townships vs your villages. We might learn something new to us.Grateful for your time in taking and posting all the photos.
Warmest regards,
LOU

Scenery is nice, but how about a pic of what's on the end of the boom that trims the vegetation?

Samn50,
Beautiful countryside!

What is the purpose of the pointy-rock wall near the stone bridge? Is it to keep livestock contained? Fantastic photo!

Sweetfeet, I am not so sure about that wall but there is an old estate with a grand house up in the village and this may have been a walled garden feature.
Bob the tree is still standing just the pic was taken further up the road....check the leaves to the right of the pic.
Tony the signal box is no longer manned ...the crossing is fully automatic. The box was due for demolishing but the locals held a petition and it is now listed for preservation.

Very nice pictures from that green island of yours. Thanks for posting. They make me think back of my 2 visits many years ago although it was more to the south and west in the republic. One thing that I thought was very special was all the
Fuchsia hedges along the roads. It seems you do a lot of hedge cutting. As far as I remember it is not allowed after
Feb. 28th but when can you start cutting them again? Is that on July 1st?
