Chock Bolts

Need help! I've got a 43 year old tractor that has never had the rims pulled off or moved. ZGot the nuts off, but the bolts are frozen in the wheel. Anybody got a 'slick trick' to get them out besides a heat wrench???

Done a few like that. Believe I pounded them out with a short handled sledge after multiple soakings with a good penetrating oil. Get them moving, then drive them back from the other side to further loosen them up. Bolt doesn't mushroom as bad that way so it still goes through the casting. Bolts would need replacing. Heating and cooling sure would help.

Not so sure if thats a good idea, just in case someone gets the wrong idea, see the below link in in regards to heat and pyrolysis, sort of a good reminder, not much help to the problem, but the results still have to be much better LOL !

I use a pin hammer that came from the railroad, I think. It's got a regular sledge side on one face, that you hit with another hammer. The other face that you put on the bolt is a 5/8" punch. You can really get a good lick on the bolt, when you aint a worryin about hitting your hand!

Thanks- managed to get them with plenty of WD40, a heat wrench and and air hammer. All a regular hammer did was mushroom the heads a bit- I had to cut them off with a die grinder. But heating the bolts to red hot, and letting them cool, then pounding them out with an air hammer worked fairly well.
