I know this is way OT, but I hope to gather some info. I am considering planting some milo. One of the local elevators are trying to get people to plant and they have agreed to buy any produced. What is the best row width to plant, how many seed per row with. (8/ft of 36 in row etc) etc. What herbicides are labeled for use with it (grass and broadleaf)? What are the general fertilization requirements for it? Etc, etc etc?

Thank You for all informative responses.

i just planted my first milo crop

I used a standard glyphosate and 2-4-d burndown
and no-tilled at 12 lbs/acre with 7.5 in rows

you could also plant at 15 or 30 inch rows with a planter instead of a drill

I used a residual herbicide matched to the safened seed I planted

for fertilizer I put down 110 lbs of nitrogen total part nh3, uan, and what was in the DAP

the P and K was matched to my soils via soil test but ended up very similar to corn

you can harvest with a grain table or corn head although I have only seen it done with a grain head
