VF4D odd fire

I too have a VH4D with an odd fire distributor.
The previous owner removed and lost the breaker plate, points, condenser, rotor. I've relocated and installed a new one from Rock Creek. I would very much appreciate the correction orientation of the plate when at number one fire position, and timing info ..
I'm quite stumped with the odd fire ...

Having had a problem years ago my dist cap was missing when motor was purchased. Drove me nuts (short trip)till learned there are 2 different firing orders for these motors. One model fires number one then 180 degrees fires then 540 degrees till number one fires again. like john deeres. the other fired each revolution (360 degrees. They have different crankshafts. Naturlly the dist caps look very different.

Is that a Wisconsin that you're talking about? EJ Potter had quite a story about one of those in his book. He said they have a stray spark on the exhaust stroke. He was messing around feeding nitrous oxide in to one without knowing that. Said one of the heads landed out by the mailbox and he found a heat shield out in the wheat field.
Said he never fooled with nitrous again. lol

I worked on a few Wiscosin engines over the years, but it was not until about ten years ago I realized there was and odd fire in the mix. It happened that a friend had purchased an old fork lift with a Wisc engine, and the guy he got it from threw in a couple old engines for spare parts. One was odd and one was even. Had me scratching my head for a while. I have Dodge Dakota v6 and it is an odd fire but not quite that odd. The original V6 engine Buick introduced was odd fire and they never did get it to run smooth. The Chrysler v6 has slight offset on connecting rod journals that does even out the firing so it is closer to even degrees between firing . This odd fire only happens in the 90 degree v 6 engines as the 60 degree ones are even fire.

I worked on a smaller odd fire V4 a year ago. The engine had a mag. I found timing information on the internet, am sure I just googled "odd fire wisconsin".

On ours, the timing mark for each cylinder was on the fan shroud, visible once you remove the flywheel screen. I believe I still have the printout from the internet.
If I still have it I will post it here.
