wheat harvest

Wheat harvest has started in my area ( St. Louis area ). Last year it was completed by this time.

We will start within the week. I had to go to Topeka today and there are fields between here and there that will start by Monday. Last year I hauled in my first load on the 6th of June. Earliest I have seen it.

In W SC today. Wheat harvest going strong. We are 1-2 weeks behind. Yesterday and today were the first days dry enough to run combine. On one field they were combining and round baling the straw, using all green equipment.

Well, back in the "old days", July 4 was a target date for our allowable 15 acres of wheat.

You probably don't remember that, though....LOL!

Wheat no where ready, here... Oats starting to head out. Mant starting to get into haying pretty heavy. Drying the hay has been a problem.
