Ticks

Good day all,
Why does it seem there are way more ticks around than usual? I pull at least 1-2 off everyday and more off the dog. It doesn"t matter if your in tall grass or not. I have walked from the house to the barn and got one on me.
I don"t remember ever even hearing about ticks 10 years ago.

I turned the TV off in our break room at work this morning and I found one on my wrist as I walked away.

ticks were real bad here but they seem to have slowed down - chiggers on the other hand....

The wood ticks do seem to be getting worse as time passes. Hardly a day goes by I don't find one on me. Only one got a bite though.

Ticks haven't been too bad here but I 'll second the vote on chiggers, worst year for them here in a long time. Can't walk outside without an Off shower.

After the fire ants moved in, the tick population dropped. They"ve made a comeback.

Earlier this year, around March/April, I was pulling a couple of dozen off our dog every day.

Thank goodness its slowed down to 4 or 5. Have only had one or two on me and no bites.

We don"t seem to have chiggers at the farm, but we have a bumper crop in Dallas. Can"t walk across the back yard without getting a couple. They itch worse than mosquito bites!

I don't know but I find several a day. You folks with chiggers I feel for you they are one of the main reasons I left Oklahoma.

we hike a lot and put bounty dryer sheets in our shoes they do a good job stopping ticks

fire ants took care of or tick problem. Chiggers are BOOMING though.

What I do is spray my boots/shoes with a light coat of Raid bug killer. I also spray down with OFF bug spray. I spray my son down when I have him outside working, then I make him take a shower after he is done. You cant be too careful out there. I dont see ticks but I have seen everyother bug imaginable. I spray the house once a month.

Between myself,and the Dog, got 52 Wood ticks,
walking through a State Natural Area, in Western
Wisconsin, last year. I mow hiking trails there and usually come home with quite a few.
I was thinking of packageing a few hundred of em
up and shipping to "OLD". he could cross breed
them with Missouri ticks, and sell them as Fish
Bait to the tourists that come to the Lake of
the Ozarks ! !
