Another old country singer gone....

Read today that singer/yodeler Slim Whitman passed away 90+. Known for "Indian Love Call", "Una Paloma Blanca",etc., Slim was one of the old guard who got his start here in my town singing on the Louisiana Hayride. His day job here was as a postman.

He got a lot of ribbing in the later years of his career, but he laughed all the way to the bank.

Isn't that the truth? I hate listening to the radio, because what is classified as country, isn't to ME. The best concert I went to was Hank Thompson, the last year he toured!!

I saw that too.
It flashed across the news and was quickly replaced by a
couple of actors who have been in the spotlight for a few years.
At least he had a good long life.
He and the opossum can jam at will!

I know a lot of people made fun of slim, but the guy could SING! That style isn't for everyone, but the man had some real talent.
