3020 injector pump

This is my brothers tractor and he asked me to ask Yall. He says the tractor cranks then will run fine at 3/4 to full throttle anything less than that it shuts off. That is the best I can relate what he said . I know we had the injector pump rebuilt about two years ago and it ran fine until now. It sits most of the time and we us it mostly to pull the corn picker and mowing and pulling a sprayer. We tried to ask the man that rebuilt it but found out he had died. Any ideas?

Well the usual check/replace the filters. Make sure the fuel is clean. Makes sure the fuel pump is working. It sounds like the injection pump is having to pull the fuel into it rather than the transfer pump push it.

Make sure the return line is not restricted. I have seen them get plugged up and cause what you are having happen.

If this all checks out it still could be the injection pump. If he just replace the governor dampening ring it could have failed again. The new fuel is not as slick as it once was. That is why you see guys adding Transmission fluid to their storage tanks.

Will do. Brother had his shoulder operated on yesterday. So I need to fix it as our corn is tasseling and putting on ears. Thanks.
