Some folks NEVER learn...

In this case, ME!!!!

Bought a John Deere garden tractor part I REALLY needed on Fleabay, and paid for it with PayPal. (May 31.)

Seller waited ELEVEN days after payment to drop it off at the Post Office.

USPS tracking ACKNOWLEDGES it was shipped on June 11TH.

It is now June 18TH and there's NO further tracking, nor has it showed up.

NOT much $$$$$, but I NEED it!

Seller initially wouldn't even confirm a shipping date, and now basically says "too bad sucker"

Funny, I've had HUNDREDS of good Fleabay experiences, and a few BAD, but when it goes WRONG, it REALLY goes wrong!

Do yourselves a favor, and watch out for "kohlerjd110"!

Go back to ebay and state it was not delivered and they will take the money back, I'm not sure pay pal is the one doing it but it has happened to us in a disagreement.

Post office does lose things.Lost a rear leaf spring for a 55 chevy.Ordered a fence stretcher. They lost a 5 foot oak 2x4 with bolts in it.I got the steel piece with the key hole slots in it.If it was shipped PO lost it.Not the sellers fault.Reminds me of the time I got a book order from a fellow in NY.Most of the books he wanted were sold.I ordered the new books and called dealers to find the used books.Drove over icy roads to get the books.Got a nasty letter demanding a refund.I sent back his check, told him I found the books he wanted but would sell them to some one else.

Was it really shipped? Or does the USPS site report "shipping information received"? That just means they issued a tracking number, it does NOT mean it was ever physically received by the Post Office. My guess is that the part never existed. Go after a refund from Paypal, and hammer the seller with bad feedback.

I've always got my money back from paypal and ebay has buyer protection policy too. I've mailed off a lot of things sold on ebay the last 11 years. Haven't had much trouble to speak of. Had one customer said he never received his item and I said I never received his payment. I told him to look at his paypal acct to see if he actually paid for it. He got back with me and apologized, LOL...
If I needed a part promptly I don't think I would order it over ebay just for that reason of delayed shipping. A dealer can have parts in 2-3 days on a stock order and not charge shipping cost.

Mark B has your answer. Paypal will pull the payment back from the seller.

Been using Ebay for many years. Had only one bad experience.

Check the tracking again. See if there is any place AWAY from the seller's location that received the part. It will show it as "shipped from" the point of origin when info is published. It hasn't shipped until you see it arrived somewhere else.

I got the part.

Only reason was that I had stopped at the local PO after starting this thread, and asked if they could track it in any more detail than I could at the consumer site.

NO, it was still in New York state.

A couple days later, the postmaster called me and said they had a heavy package come in with a blank-appearing shipping label with neither my name or the tracking barcode visible.

It was my part. He asked me to bring him the tracking # from ebay so he could report it delivered, as the barcode wouldn't scan and the info couldn't be discerned by human eyes.

SHORT version,

1. The useless seller waited 11 days to mail the part.

2. He covered the Paypal shipping label with clear tape that absorbed/destroyed/obliterated the printing. (I saved the label and will post a photo when I have a few minutes.)

3. Somehow, the PO did a remarkable job of getting the poorly packed/labeled part to where it needed to be!

Should I leave the ebay seller (+) feedback?

If it took hem 11 days to send it off, I would leave neg. feedback because of slow shipping and poor customer support after the sale.

Taking the high road here...If the part is indeed what you need, and you can still use it, check the positive button on the feedback but hammer him in the description. Feedback is permanent and can't be changed unless both parties agree to disagree and all feedback is removed.

On several occasions the Post Office will have the original information posted but no updates show up until after the item is delivered.

I'm impressed with the ultimate delivery of the item. Wonder how many things simply "go away" in this manner.

Not sure about the double post, never had that happen before. Maybe the post office was making sure it got delivered....
