Happy Father's Day to all you dads. Hope you have a great day with your families and that you also get a little tractor/shop time!

I'm cooking a big breakfast and we are going bumming for a bit (might find some photo ops). Then will probably grill out for supper.

Beautiful here today for once (so far anyway - storms seem to roll in quickly since it is so saturated around here).

Thank You Sweetfeet!

Every Fathers day for about the last 25 years one of the local EAA chapters has a pancake/egg breakfast at O6C, our local airport. My Son, Grandson and me are going before church this fine morning.

My youngest son (33) just came in with a Father's Day card. On the front, it said "I just want to thank you for all you do for me and" inside it said "PLEASE DON'T STOP".
Got a good laugh out of that.
My wife is cooking one of my favorite Sunday dinners. Fried chicken legs, crowder peas, mashed taters, biscuits with our homemade sorghum syrup, squash casserole, and homemade pound cake.
YUM YUM.

Happy Fathers Day everyone..Kids coming over for a B-B-Q this evening..In the meantime im gonna be in the barn building a picnic table as a gift for a friends wedding friday.
Enjoy your sunday

Thank you.
I forgot all about it. Called a buddy to see what he was up to. He's brave, or crazy. Took his son to his local airport via motorcycle for the breakfast, and it's trying to rain again.
Our kids are long gone. One will be here in three weeks with two grand kids. Wife is so excited she can't sleep!

Thanks. The restaurant in town re opened under new owners. The wife and I went for breakfast. They were looking for signs to put up on the wall,so I took them this one. Gotta give the place a little class.

The boys are coming for supper. Sister in law brought a country ham when they were up from Kentucky for Memorial Day,so the wife is making that and scalloped potatoes.

Got another four tenths of an inch of rain over night, just added to already standing water,so can't do a thing today but maybe get the baler out and grease it.

Dang it. Picture didn't post. This one.

Father's Day, 1985, also June 16, was the day my father died.

It was a blessing, actually. He was 86, had had a stroke, and had been comatose for a week. There was no chance for recovery.

He had a good life, actually farmed the same farm and worked the same workload until he was 85.

I can only hope I do as well. I'm 78, still working the same job I've had for 8 years, so I guess we'll see what the future brings for me.

Thanks Sweetfeet have a great day,
I have heard from two of my three boys (they all live of and to gone) Only the one in WA. hasn't called yet.
I will head to the shop here shortly for an afternoon of putting the super C back togather finely, it is a long ways from done (and still waiting on a couple parts)

Bumming is the perfect way to spend Father's Day.

I went to an auction yesterday. Bill said tractors (55 of them) sold at noon followed by equipment. I wasn't looking for a tractor so arrived around 12:30. All the equipment sold and they were working on the tractors. Grrrrrr! Drove 60 miles round trip for nothing.

And a happy dad's day to your hubby, SweetFeet. Always enjoy your pics.

Had an early Father's day yesterday- 2 of the 3 kids, and the associated grandkids, came yesterday for a little BBQ. I cursed my gas BBQ once again, because it doesn't get hot enough to really grill properly- I think its the regulator, think I'll take it apart today. Us tractor guys just can't seem to get away from taking stuff apart! LOL

I'm bummin' today too- a little tinkering, then baseball game this afternoon, then maybe another burger tonight. As I ease into geezerhood (signed up for Medicare this week- I get to avoid external_linkcare completely- WooHoo!), I find that the best celebrations are not very "high-energy".

All the kids will call, which I enjoy and appreciate. Its a day I recall all I did wrong in those years and wish I had it all to do over, but of course, its too late now.

WOW! I read all the posts and not one mention of anyone going to church today. What gives....thought all YT people were church goers. Anyway I/we went as always. Good sermon.

Went to church with Marilyn after working a couple of hours beforehand. Son, DIL and kids came over, we grilled burgers and went back to work. Did the same thing for supper only he's the only one going back to work. After all, we should back off a little on sunday. Jim

RB n SC,

Have a cousin in Florida. Just like to be silly.
No worries... I promise not to "bless your heart". :)

Larry Neil said he was going to church right off the bat.

We seldom miss a Sunday... but pastor is on vacation and he have heard the fill-in speaker. So we predetermined to be official bums today. ;)

Sounds like everyone had a great day!

We did here too! AND got a full day and a half with no rain - though it did cloud up and thunder a little this evening. Crazy.

Thanks Sweetfeet!
Joan and I had a nice day bumming at the tractor show.
Pancakes, eggs and sausage breakfast with coffee for $4.50.
All going to charity.
Church services on the grounds before pulling started.
Worst part was hauling stuff home. We had to make two trips.
Oh, and tell Ron that should be All-Ya'll. Bless his heart.

I went grocery shopping today. Ruth is not well. I bought myself a small cake to celebrate the Day. And, lots of other groceries.
Younger Son came for a visit, with one of his sons. Set around and talked about the "olden days", as the old folks would say. Older son lives in connecticut, has a music shop there. He was down for a visit earlier last month. Called me tonight. I Can"t get much time at fixing tractors and mowers. Did get a couple of freebies, though.
We adopted both boys. Couldn"t have kids, don"t know where the trouble was, but, i think it might of been caused by my war-time injuries. Any way--both boys grew up into fine men. We couldn"t be any happier with them. Life is what ya make it! RJ
