O/T Radiator Flush part 2

About two weeks ago I had asked on here what was a good radiator flush. I have a 98 Chevy Blazer that was flushed at a repair shop 16 months ago, a new radiator and heater core installed at the same time.
The coolant was looking bad again so I drained it. Some one said to use Vinegar to flush it. I put 1 1/2 gallon of vinegar in it and let it set over night. I flushed it out the next morning and boy did it break the rust loose. I refilled with water then ran for a 1/2 hr and drained again. I then put new antifreeze in it. It now needs flushing again as you can see by the pictures. A lot of debris settles up by the radiator cap and transmission cooler. I'm glad to see the vinegar worked and now I'm thinking of putting a strainer type filter inline for my heater core.

I used vinegar on my Belarus, ran it a little while, then flushed it like crazy with straight water. Put a garden hose in the top of the radiator, opened the block drain and radiator drain, and ran the for quite a while continuously flushing. After getting clear water for a long time, I refilled with new anti freeze and ran it some. I ended up with the same crap in the neck of the radiator. I wasn't sure what caused it. Will draining/flushing again clear it up?

What in the world causes THAT?

Looks like someone filled your radiator with Grey Poupon Dijon mustard!

John, I never seen anything like that. Looks like someone put some kind of heavy duty stop leak snake oil stuff in it. With a new radiator, new heater core, and flush 16 months ago, what you got now is a real mystery unless the shop you used added something. Better find out, and get it all out or you are headed for big trouble.

I think you are into a gasket issue, or cracked engine component. That Caramel Moose is not from flushing. Jim

I see this a lot on gm with dex-cool but usually not this bad. I usually see it when the coolant gets low. was the coolant low.

The coolant never runs low nor does the engine oil leve. The transmission level is always the same. There's no bubbles when the engine is running. I think there is just a bunch of sediment in the block after all these years.

Did you flush the entire system last time? I would definately flush with a heater hose flush kit you can buy at an auto parts store. Prestone makes one. Flush one way with the heater hose blocked off on one side then, when the water is clear, block off the other side. Leave the petcock open during the procedure. That is about the worst on I have ever seen.
