Thought the big, modern tractor working in the background between the marker arms of our old planter made kind of a neat contrast photo. (Wish he had been working on the nearest side of the field - a close up view would have been better. Could not get him on-center either, then he disappeared into a dip.)

This pic was taken Sunday - has been too wet since then to get in the fields. The green area is oats they planted early this spring.

I also like the contrast of the rusty green equipment sitting in the field and the strong red equipment still working it.

I keeed, I keeeed!

I don't have a picture of the contrast, but one day I was seeding soybeans with my 50 year old 60 HP tractor and 12 foot grain drill. To the south was Amish planting with horses and 2 row planter and to my west farmer was planting with 525 HP tractor and 48 row planter. Technoligies from 100 years at the same time.

I took a similar picture on our farm last year. The only thing is the "new" tractor is 30 years old! lol

This is my oliver 40 combine and my BIL's tractor and grain cart with my niece driving. His grain cart is to tall for the combine so I had to bring an old gravity box up to unload into.

I like the pic of the three ACs next to each other. Similar look at my place with my WC and 7000.

This picture of my 1944 John Deere B beside a neighbors John Deere 8630 was on the back cover of Green Magazine a few years ago. The 8630 is hardly new since it's more than 30 years old. Both of them still earn their keep every spring.

Glennster,

More great photos. Amazing to see the difference in machinery within about two generations.

I don't remember seeing cab-less self propelled combines.

Neat pic - thanks for posting.

Jim IA,

Great photo. Your building site reminds me our ours a little. We have kept our old buildings - though we did pull down the old round crib a couple years ago. We still have the double sided wood crib with machine space in the center.

Gene D.,

Now that would have been a fantastic photo if all scenes could have been combined!

Matt T.,

LOL!

Around here, we are pretty color blind on tractors: 2 Farmalls, 2 John Deere, and 1 Case.

This is my 1954 Eicher ED16/II. Single cylinder air cooled Diesel, 19 hp. Original condition.

Normally, Eicher tractor used to be painted with a light blueish color. This one was painted green because it was an export version for Brazil. Fortunately, it stayed all its life in Germany.

Best regards,

Hendrik

Hendrik,

Great photo. Thanks for posting. I have never seen an Eicher... but I love it, really neat.

I hope you never repaint it. It looks fabulous in its original finish!

Thanks sweet feet. We have mostly older buildings on our farm. The place has been in the family since 1888. Believe it or not but the grainery in this picture was the original house. Theres even some Sears catalogue pages on the wall where my Great Grandmother and stuck up for wall paper.
