Fields in your area?

How they look? Around here corn that has been up for weeks is only couple inches, some beans up, ALOT of drowned out corn and poor emergence, quite a few feilds too wet to plant. Seems like alot of BTO"s were not able to get things planted, again. Kinda makes you wonder. How does it look in your area? I do not think we willbe having a bumper crop of corn this year. Early fall will really hurt.

Much the same here in SE Iowa. Wet spots and yellow corn.

We did have about 8 to 10 days we could plant.

Lot of the guys are done but the BTO do have a ways to go yet.

I have about 25 acres to plant to beans for a neighbor that was planning on baling rye off of first. He's afraid to mow it and I would be as well.

South central Ne. Most corn is up 6-8 inches tall beans coming good. We have had decent moisture, but still way behind overall. Still prayin for rain.

A lot of the guys aound here have written the corn off. Most planted in the bottoms got flooded out.Hgh ground not doing bad.1000s of acres in the Missouri bottoms around West Alton got taken by the Ol' Missisip in the past 2 days.
I lost some hay last week and whats left gonna take a week to dry after it's cut.I'm watchin the weather now.2 dry days and 5 wet ones after that.
Things are gonna be a little defferent this year.

Western South Dakota:90% of the winter wheat has been abandoned. Didn't germinate last fall. Early planted spring wheat looks good. Later planted looks ok, just to cold to be growing much. Not much corn out here. Not much else planted yet. Was getting ready, and then we had a week of cool cloudy, rainy, damp weather. Tried planting milo yesterday, but still to wet. I know it needs to be in the ground, but can't get it done! Hopefully today will work. Everything here is late this year.

North central North Dakota... 20 to 30% of acres seeded, rest FLOODED, SOGGY a MESS!

In our immediate area (se MN), not that much is planted. Has just been too wet in April and May and so far the trend is continuing in June. Realistically we had only about two planting days in May and almost 2 June planting days last weekend. Otherwise it rains every darn day.

Last week when out bumming around 30-40 miles from here, we saw more corn planted. But as you said, it is small and yellow or drowned out. Yesterday, drove 30 miles the opposite direction and they are like it is here... basically nothing planted.

Hearing that some guys are going to plant all beans. But if we get a 2-3 more weeks of continual rain - it is going to get too late to plant beans too.

Wettest spring I ever remember (without at least a break in the rain for a week so you could still stick a crop in the ground).

We have wash outs in the fields, that will certainly reduce yields. We had some significant rains, one a 3 day event, another from a strong thunderstorm. I looked at the hay ground my farmer friend has, its all he does now and its all stunted, well at least the more recently planted ground looks nice, but the dry spell at the end of April into mid may, was enough to reduce the yield of the first cut, older plantings, have a lot of weeds, they seem to do better when its dry, its that vine like weed with flower shaped leaves, blooms in white, I have it in this field of mixed grasses too, last year at the same time looking at the photos, it was mostly thick grasses, well over waist high, this year only one grass got that tall, orchard grass topped out early and short, and that weed is more prevalent.

If I didn't have an electric over,I'd have my head in it. I just went out and disced about 45% of a field that I chiseled three weeks ago. Something had to be done, the weeds were coming on like gangbusters.

The corn that did get planted and is up (not mine) has a lot of drowned out spots, but there isn't that much in.

A fair whack of alfalfa looks rough from being drowned out in late April. The stuff that is good is starting to go down from the rain.

Forgot to add,it's raining again. Just checked the radar,it's just training right over us. Looks like it'll last all day the way it's going.

Our corn is suffering too, but from lack of rain. Less than 3 inches in the last two months. I would be glad to share the rain with you folks that are getting to much. We had the rain two years ago and I wouldn't wish that much rain on anyone! Buckeye in southern Ohio.

We've had a lot of rain. Corn that was planted just 10-14 days is up and looking good. Most of it is 10" or better. Evidently, the good weather we've had is helping for now. May be TOO wet if this pattern keeps up.

Corn is in for the most part round here. Corn is small 6" and somewhat yellow. Usually its knee high by now.

Very few beans in the ground around here. Have a patch that may get tore up cause the ground is so hard from all the rain. Hoping to get in the fields and start working this afternoon just short of 2 weeks.

South Central Ohio is looking pretty good. The BTOs in my area are just finishing up bean planting, corn is up about 6 - 12 inches, depending on when it was planted of course. Haven't seen any fields that look too wet.

Just came in from chopping haylage, all done for today. Half first cut is now chopped. and it has started to rain again. I still have to plant corn silage on one field we have taken hay off. While w are feeling sorry for ourselfs here, sounds like MN and Michigan , have things much more challenging. Bruce

Just drove up to Kentucky, down to Alabama and back home here to Texas. Corn from Alabama to Texas looked pretty good to me.

NC Iowa We still want to plant some corn, 100 acres, for silage, but I don't know how late we can plant. Only got half the corn planted, and no beans yet. Lot of manure to haul, been stock piling it. Hay is ready to cut. More rain tonight they say. We still are a lot better off then the people in OK. I'm thankful for what we do have. We have a century farm, and my grandpa, my dad always said "that we have never had a complete failure. Always something"

In central Iowa, corn that was planted early looks good. Corn planted in May on the hill ground is dying from seedling diseases and river bottoms are about drowned out. Some corn to plant and lots of beans. Around here the crop is about as bad as I have seen in years. The rains just keep a coming.

here are a few pics of some of mine now, Barley is looking good now as we got 3 1/2" of rain a week ago first real H20 we have had all spring, hope everyones crops come thru cnt

East Central SD. I think everybody will be done planting this week. Those that got done before the last rain spell have 1-2 inch plants up now. Just enough to drive by and see that it"s been planted.

The corn in central Pa looks real nice, dark green color and anywhere from 4 to 10 inches in height.
Mine was planted on June 1 so nothing up yet but should be soon with the nice rain we are receiving.

My food plot corn, two plots, is 4-6 inches tall. It looks as good as some of the farms that use a lot more chemicals than I do. Oats are lush and pushing a foot tall and my wheat is all headed out. Looks as good as other areas. Maybe I should try to make some money at this, rather than just feed critters. LOL!! Lots of hay cut and raked but we had rain last night and today.

Larry

Here in north central Ohio most everyone was done planting before the Memorial Day weekend. Neighbors made hay this week between good soaking rains of 1.5" and 1" today. Our garden looks as good as ever.
