I have 12" diameter pine logs that I just cut and stripped the bark off,how long should I wait for them to dry before I put sealer on them? thanks

The main issue is what do you want to do with them? If using them for a log style building I would keep them dry for a year with appropriate methods to keep them straight. They will twist and try to warp some (bend). I think strapping them together would be fine. If sealed while wet and with the pitch soft, the sealer will have a tough time penetrating. If you are finishing them with a varnish or varnish stain, that is appropriate. if using a water based coating (like Street Shoe) A urethane water born finish it could be at the end of this summer. But the internal humidity needs to be normalized to lessen deterioration, and reduce warp when installed. A kiln is good, but might not be available. If you live where the humidity is at 50% all the time, it might take longer, and still not be as dry as intended. Jim

Seal ends of logs ASAP, prevents end checking(cracking) Google log sealer, last time I bought it it, the wax sealer was about $6-7/gallon, in the 5 gallon bucket.
