old gasoline

neighbor has 15 gallon of gas stored in plastic containers for portable generator since 07. smells good but some has evaporated, is this still good to use? thanks in advance enjoy the weekend!

I'd probably dilute it with new, and burn it in one if my older, less finiky tractors.

I've been diluting some old gas and running in my Farmall H. I've been mixing two parts of fresh to one part of the old. Works fine in the old girl. The gas I'm diluting is a heck of alot older than 07 and runs fine.

Make sure you mix it. Last summer, I was running a gas forklift. When there was probably less than a cup of gas left in the tank, I put in about 5 gallon of two-year-old gas. I started the forklift back up and as soon as the old gas made it to the carb, I had to pull the choke out all the way for it to run. It actually ran okay, as long as the choke was pulled all the way out. I was pretty proud of myself because I was going to get rid of some old gas.....until I had to do a cold start on the forklift. I had a heck of a time getting it to start next time and I actually had to unscrew a plug out of the intake manifold to shoot some ether in it to get it to start. I was actually pretty happy to get all of the old gas burned out of the tank. After it was gone, the engine would again run with the choke all the way in.

had some 2 yr old gas--mixed it with fresh gas and it fouled my Ford 2N carb within 20 minutes. I still had 20 gallons left, one of my tenants ran it all with NO problems in his 2001 Chevrolet P/U. Go figure.

I add it to my Diesel tractor about a gallon per 15 gallon tankful. Works fine.

An old low-compression engine like on a Farmall M will burn it just fine. Dilute or not.

I use old gas for outdoor parts cleaning and cleaning paint brushes, but only use 2 or 3 gallons a year for such purposes.

Poured some into my old poppin johnny,she ran like a top. She got so sentimental that she had tears running out of her head-lights. All low compression engines love the stuff,if you can stand the smell.
