Out the worst

I do factory automation for a living.

My customer produces about half of the frozen soups for restaurants in the US. They have been down for the last 3 weeks installing new equipment. It has been 12 hour days 7 days a week.

We came up on production today.

I am beat and looking forward to nice weekend. I will take Farmall for a drive. It needs to run a little, then tighten up the hubs.

I did that for quite a few years. Great pay because you were working around the clock. I found it really cool when machines would run like they should. But when they didn"t it was a mess.

Or you were given 2 weeks to have the machines set and running, and you really needed three.

I designed (and installed) a lot of neat automation when I did that, but the shop I was at didn"t pay the best so I moved on when the opportunity came up.

I can relate.
What a relief it was for you to come up on production.
Worked for a company that designed and installed order picking equipment in a cold storage for fresh dairy products (a huge fridge, measuring 400 by 300 by 50 feet). One morning during the commissioning, our boss came to visit his crew and to see how things were progressing. He was glad to see the equipment was running as it should and said "well done" to the guys. He nearly fainted when we told him, yes, it is running but we are now doing yesterday's deliveries.
