Here in SW Wi. very little going on in fields.Been very wet.Have alot of crops to put in yet. Think will focus on beans now. Some corn fields are under water and it will be awhile. How about you folks?

Cold and very late here in Northern Ireland....some spring barley still to go in. 3 farmers beside me lifted mediocre crops of silage grass yesterday and today it is raining again. The North wind just keeps on blowing! Our wind normally comes from the mild south-west. Grazing is scarce, especailly if any one had sheep out wintered, them things are better than any lawn mower!. Just heard last night that silage is being imported from England and France @£45/tonne.

Alfalfa is pretty short and showing wilting yesterday. It needs a rain soon. I don't think I am going to cut much hay. The pastures are greening up although it's been too cool for the warmer season grasses to start much yet. Send the rain. I have a place to put it.

Wet in MN. Farmers can't get in the fields. Had a couple days last week when they could plant. I have heard some are switching to corn with shorter growing season, some are going to change course and plant more beans.

So dang wet, you cannot even mow your lawn. We started farming in 1985 - I never remember a year so wet. Glad we rent-out our farmland now.

Wish we could send some of the rain to those who need it!

Most guys are about done planting here (south central Ohio). We've had some rain but just not at our place, storms have gone to the north and south of us. Even had hay delivered yesterday! Only about another 1,000 bales to go.

In my little area in NWIA the corn is probably 75% planted. A few beans are in the ground. We aren't exceptionally wet, but it just stays wet enough to keep us out of the field. Jim

Where in SW WI? We are 50 miles SW of Madison. Just finished planting corn last night. Hills worked up nice. The bottom ground plowed wet and worked down before it could bake into bricks. Not ideal conditions but it's good to be done. We have missed some of the rains lately.

Same thing in mid Michigan. I don"t have any corn in the ground. Had 4+ inches of rain since Monday afternoon. A LOT of water standing again. Looks like the bulk of my corn will be going in in June.

NC Ia. Son got two days of planting in 10 days ago, haven't turned a wheel since. Sounds like rain till next Tuesday, and then how many days to dry up??? Mitchell county is hurting big time with all the heavy rains last week-end.

Central Ks is still too wet to do much planting. Got a few acres of beans in Saturday, then 2 1/2" or rain sat night and sunday. Hoping to start again this weekend, but calling for rain everday for the rest of the week. Need to get some hay down, but hate to when there is so much rain in the forecast. I'm not complaining at all, however, as I know it will quit raining altogether pretty soon and we will be begging for it. We have had a pretty wet last couple of months. Last year was dryer than usual. Looks good to have our pastures green again. Last year we started cutting wheat the day after tomorrow. This year with the cool wet spring, it will probably be 3 to 4 weeks away yet. That's Ks weather for you though. Bob

We were really wet and cold until about two weeks ago, then started drying out. Lots of crops went in tin the last 10 days, but the rain we got yesterday and today will stop us for a few days. Still got quite a bit of ground to plant yet.
