I don't do much exterior work, much less gutters.
But for a good customer I'll do most anything they ask.
I had two pieces of gutter rolled today. Needed to get creative to get them to the job site.
They rode just fine.

Nice improvising there!

I'm about to do something similar to my 16' car hauler to get some 32' pipe home...but plan on keeping the pipe much lower and away from a back window trajectory in case I need to hit the brakes!

The step ladders are a creative touch.
My record is 42', tied onto a fully extended 32" ladder up on the ladder rack. But I've heard of folks transporting 55'+. I wouldn"t want to be involved with that.

I've seen guys haul long pieces of iron tied up underneath their pickups before. You must have driven awful slow to keep that gutter from not twisting and blowing in the wind.

I Did a job in Peurto Rico a while back it was common to see people with bundles of re-bar tied under their car.But the best one I saw there was a full grown live cow tied up in the trunk of a 60 chevy the bumper was almost draging. I also saw a car with to men in the trunk holding the tongue of a trailer on a highway keeping up with traffic 55 or so.

Well there's a D.O.T, violation if I've ever seen one....... but uh, thats effective good use of a pair of step ladders, wind can pass through, one end of the gutter clears the truck, flagged, strapped down,(that had to be tricky given what they are!) looked like they arrived just fine !

There seem to be a few guys around here who have the machine in a trailer that will bend up the coil stock on site, and of course install too, I don't think I'd have chanced trying to haul those unless they were stiffened up and packaged, would be afraid of the wind bending them or something similar, but I suppose with the shape of the metal, probably rigid enough.

I still can't get over that non typical slot in the wall sink you posted, how do you clean under in there LOL !

It was all through town so I never had to go over 30 mph. This is steel gutter so it's much stronger than the aluminum stuff.
I called a couple of those mobile outfits that will come to your site and roll out any length you want. But their cost for just the gutters (plus a trip fee) was more than I paid for these plus all the end caps, brackets, downspouts, etc.

Well you earned your guru badge for transporting gutters.

I have a brick house I had the soffets (you no what I mean) covered in aluminum and vinyl last fall. I had the seamless gutters removed saftey so I could put them back a storm came up and tore them up. My home owners paid for new ones and the instillation :D

I"ve hauled 40 footer's a few times now the same way you described. But I"m nervous the whole trip ha ha!

Nothing like good old American ingenuity!
Around here folks would call me a redneck when they saw it. :)

I believe they did the worlds record longest here in Mich. maybe last year. I'll try to find the article.

If you haul your gutter tied to step ladders tied to a trailer.... you might be a redneck! kidding, KIDDING!
