John Deere b oil

I was wondering what oil should I use in my John Deere b? In our original manual it says 20 weight oil but after doing some reading on here I see people run 10 w30. Any advice would be great thanks

In the manual for my B 1935 by the way it says to run one weight in the cold weather but if hotter then 95 out to run a 50W old. A 20 if below 32 etc. My B was my grand fathers and he got it in 1940 but it is a 1935 and I have the true as in printed in 1935 manual. Me I run 50W in it but it has been decades since it has had any engine work done to it if it ever did have any done.
If it was a latter model B I would run a 20W-50 in it and be done with it and be good for all year round

We use 15W-40 Diesel oil in both our Model B tractors.

10w-40 is a lot better, 10w-30 is a bit light and the 20w-50 would be better but harder to find and the 15-40 I would not know where to find, book recemonds 50 for summer.

Have had no diesel's and will never have any. Can't stand the smell of the fuel, makes me sick.

If it ran for 50 plus years on a 20w oil, why worry about it. We will all probably be gone before it quits.
