transmission on a ford 4000 select o speed

ok guys i need some help im just a city girl trying to do the country thing, i have a tractor, and the tranny stop moving forward.i was bushhoging and it stop moving forward. what should i be checking for. thanks.

ditto on posting on ford forum--one question, did pto stop also? think they had a input shaft drive failure that stopped all-not a good thing--

Is that the 3 or 4 cylinder one?? I can not say much on that but on the 3000 SOS there is a lever on the side that if it gets moved it will do as your has done and just stop moving and if put back in place you will be good to go again. Helps if you explain what you may have been doing and if it just happened all at once or what

I agree with Old - check the lever down on the left. It was used to disengage the transmission while on stationary PTO use. Farmer I worked for as a kid had a 5000 on the blower without disengaging it. Selecto-speed lever vibrated into reverse - made a mess
