Can't believe I did it

I had a Zieman equiptment trailer I bought from my neighbor about 8 or more years ago. It sat in the same place since I bought it. I sold it yeaterday. Still a little uneasy on my decision to sell the trailer. I have a T0 20 with a mower that is next to go. It has sat in the same place since I stopped using it about 10 years ago. It is running and ready to go. I don't know why some of us get so connected to our stuff. At least I do. Stan

I get the same connection to my stuff - I'll have to be dead before I could part with it and especially couldn't watch it go at an auction.

Dont feel bad, if it hasnt moved in 8 years you dont need it. I dont let things sit for too long.

The way I look at it, the money you spent 8 years ago, could have been working for you in other ways, whether additional equipment for your business, tools, etc. Instead you spent money, then when you sold the trailer, you finally got your ROI.

Unfortunately, I do get rid of things a little too soon. But, I cannot stand clutter. So am guilty just the opposite way. I will not buy anything for the farm unless I have already put together the business need with $$ amounts first.

I'm the same way, I hang on to things for too many years after I don't need them anymore. Once I do get rid of unused stuff I rarely miss them and have never needed to replace them.

Look on the bright side, you can always rent another trailer from just about anywhere if you ever need one again, and you can always buy another trailer in the future.

Does it really matter what you keep and what you get rid of? What else is there in what we do that matters anyway. Just dust in the wind..

I'am the same way, just can't seem to get rid of stuff. Think sometime I'll need it again. I think that fixing broken tractors and machinery gets me an emotional attachment to it. My kids are going to have a real problem getting rid of this stuff whin I go.

I rebuilt a '51 Dodge car about 15 years ago, drove it for 6 or 7 years then parked it in a shed until last week.

Put up an add "for sale or trade", two days later a guy offered me a JD 135 lawn tractor with a 42" deck and a 42" snowblower plus a handful of cash, a little haggling and the deal was done.

Don't miss the Dodge a bit 'cause I was done with it.

Mowing the grass with ease now, the blower is for sale and I've got cash in my pocket for something else when I find it.

That's the way my father-in-law was. If he knew he wasn't going to need a piece of machinery for a year, he sold it and bought another back when he needed it.

I tend to be a packrat, myself.
