Cleaning that screen must have done it. It's refreshed twice now -- no salty taste in the morning and only about a foot of water remaining in the brine tank.

I"m glad it worked out for you. It still would be a good idea to let the brine tank use up all the salt and when it does disconnect the brine tank and wash it out thoroughly. All commercial salt has some dirt in it, and the dirt stays in the brine tank after the salt has gone, it depends on the brand you buy as to how much dirt is in the salt. Anyone should clean their brine tank out at least every other year. Good luck, my cousin has a daughter that lives near Vermilion, SD.
