Ah, one of my favorite jobs to do. I enjoy hauling cattle manure. Sounds strange, but I always like to do it, unless the spreader breaks down. LOL

This site is always good for a laugh. I bought one a few years ago. JD model number is C or N or something like that. Didn't pay a lot for it, put a few links in the link chain that runs the scraper boards on one side, lubed it up, aired the tires (look like originals) and that was it. Works like a charm.

I always enjoyed spreading manure. I always tried to keep from driving over where I had already spread, and always tried to park the loader tractor where I wouldn't get my boots dirty and then the cab. That part didn't often work.

There is a lot of crap on alot of the forums lol....Ive always enjoyed it as well. It seems every 4 years there is more of it (lol)...he he

Finished up last week. G-son was hauling for a while- until he ran over a sapling in a brush area next to a corn field, bent a slat and destroyed the apron chain on the apreader. New one from CNH was $1700; aftermarket one from Fry's in Pa. was $1000. But, we finished until fall.....

John Deere N spreader was a PTO powered rubber tired spreader, C was a very early horse drawn steel wheel 4 wheel spreader that preceded the E that was a popular spreader, also horse drawn that was known as the beater on the axle spreader. 30's to early 40's, c 20's.
