I just finished reading "The Millionaire Nextdoor"

I highly recommend it, I dont read a lot of books, mostly tech manuals, Zero novels. This book clarified a few things for me, and made me seriously rethink my retirement savings strategy.

I always hear about "retirement savings strategies" and such stuff. I don't see much of that around me. Around here, the vast majority of the people still believe they'll live off SS when they finally stop working, or lose their job, whichever comes first. FDRs great lie still works and still gets people elected.

Amen to that. Most of family thinks this way, don't think they've saved a dime except for a brother that sold his business and has squirelled away some in investments (doesn't hurt too that his live-in's wealthy parents died, she's an only child).

A good one is The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. It is deep but points the finger at the ones who pull our chains. Those 5% with all the money herd us like sheep.
