OT Georgia onions

Does anyone down in Georgia have any idea how the vidalia onion harvest is going? We are waiting on a shipment and it has been delayed due to weather , they say.

We bought some at the grocery store yesterday. Wife baked some in the microwave today. Real good. I like to slice them and eat them with vegetables. Just eat them like a biscuit.

Late Friday afternoon I stumbled across the Vidalia onion Guy at the crossroads in Crescent City, Illinois and picked up 10 pounds. Mighty good onions! I was wondering if maby I missed him this year. Armand

I bought one at the local grocery store last week. It seemed a little soft but it tasted good on my hamburger.

A true Vidalia, I can eat like an apple. Bought a bag last week and they didn"t taste too different from regular onions, I sure was disappointed.

Billy, don"t you folks have those big Texas Sweets down there? I used to frequent a drive-in restaurant that served those things on their hamburgers. A slice of onion would cover the whole hamburger!

As a Vidalia resident I can say Harvest is going well now. It was a little wet fro a bit but the weather has been good for the last few weeks so the Onions should be showing up around the country soon if not already.

Some of the biggest problems we have had this year is field workers. Local people don't want to work and the Govt has made migrant help hard to find.

I guess it is the same all over.
