Didn't think it could happen...

Good news,
resigned myself to hermit life,
quite content.
Met the sweetest lady,
doesn't mind an old busted-up-vet-has-been
in his older days,
Gettin Married this month.
Miracles do happen.
She sure ain't after the money cause there ain't none,

Guess I just wanted to share when things are bad,
they can always get better.

Take care, I'll be postin again.
I check in from time to time
(If she'll let me, lol)
Danny

How well put.
Ceremony will be here at the farmstead,
a few close friends, casual, buddy of mine a preacher.
Might have to borrow that line,
if its alright with you.

(quoted from post at 21:23:30 05/04/13) Sometimes we end up finding a resource and companion that retires our resignation. Jim

Those Clint Eastwood movies are making the ladies much more aware of the old tough hombre, retired Rambo types like you.

Congratulations.

Not to steal your glory, but I too found a real gem. To be a rural
senior citizen, not interested in traveling, no motor home jazz,
no going to the opera every so often and all that and find a gal
that shares your interests is truly amazing.

Neat thing about both of us is that we have seen/been to the
other side of the mountain and that's fine. Now we are on this
side and enjoying it. Really nice to have a loving companion
again.

Mark

What a nice turn of events for the two of you. As Dean Martin sang---Everybody loves somebody. Many happy years and adventures...

Well...
She doesn't have a sister, fortunately, because I'd be confused, lol.
She doesn't have a tractor either, but loves learning about them AND even helping work on things (which I especially need cause of my body's condition).
Amongst many other things, I imagine I'll be getting fat--
she is an amazing cook.
Mostly, she passes the ultimate test--
she's gotta be alright 'cause my dogs like her...

Was 33, did not think it would happen, met her and in 6 months were married and past january celebrated 35 years together.

Congratulations! Wish you both much happiness in the future. I been looking for thirteen years and haven't found one yet. Computer dating sites won't even let me register anymore. The way I see it, is, if things are going bad, I can be sure they are only going to get worse. Been holding true for me anyway. Did have a small miracle happen to me yesterday tho, accidentally found a wrench for the tractor that I had been looking for forever.

Janicholson--a whole lot better than a toaster. Thank you. I will work it into the (hopefully brief) ceremony.

retiredfarmer--if it helps any, my Mom calls me Murphy anymore, cause if it can go wrong it does in my life--now something like this, I think she'll start calling me son or Danny again. If it can happen to me, it surely will for you.
Thank you everyone!!!

I'll probably update some more, and hope to get some pics up for you all.

Danny

That was factor in my wife deciding I was the one--her Spitz dog liked me. Never did tell her I'd buy a ham sandwich and rub it all over my hands before I picked her up for a date. Come to think of it, that dog was always kind of a knothead.

Hi friends,
This is Jessie, soon to be Danny's Wife. He is my miracle. I'm so excited about our farm-life and love-life for many years to come, together. Danny has introduced me to so many things including pickup trucks, tractors, grease and grime, tools, wrenchin, a bit of common sense, his critters and love of agriculture and animals, weapons, prior military experiences, an off the wall sense of humour, how to help out a busted up old hard worker, I could go on forever...

There are many of us women who love kind souls and are looking for men like you all, though your prime years may have passed. I am happy to have moved from calling myself 'city girl' Jessica to Danny's 'country girl' Jessie Lynn.

Danny and I hope to get a pic or two posted soon...

Double whammy - not only is it good to see your post, but what great news!!!

So very pleased for you and looking forward to pics.

Well, over a simple bump in the road, she's decided to postpone.
I don't need this, hermit life is so much simpler.
I may cancel permanent.
We'll see what happens, but my phone will be off for a week or two,
help her figure out if she wants me around or not.
Women-can't figure 'em out.

Dbernie I will soon celebrate my fortieth anniversary. I think that a woman to come home to and share things with is a good thing. I am pretty sure that turning one's 'phone off is not considered a tool in conflict resolution but is instead a tool in "teaching a lesson" and proving self-centeredness and pride. You need to talk.

I got off my hermit high horse, plus neighbor come over and talked, I called her and we got things squared away. We're just gonna take a little more time before the wedding, but its still on. She's sitting next to me right now, we're working on the communication thing. I think this will still work. Thanks for the advice, you're all correct. She's worth waiting for.
Its all good.

Glad to hear it!! Communication is #2 in any relationship God is no# 1. You are welcome! that will be $200.00, special rate for Yesterday's tractors guys.

showcrop:
I get the $200 disabled vet discount, by the way, lol.

Things took a turn for the worse.
She's a city girl, and decided she just can't do the country living thing.
Can't understand that myself, I'd do anything to get out of livin in town.
Guess we ain't all the same.

Engagement ring returning tomorrow.

I enjoy life out here with just me and the dogs anyhow.
Did have high hopes, gotta admit, but been widowed and divorced,
but thought Jessie really fit the bill. She can call me anytime she changes her mind, or just wants to go have coffee...but we all know where that ends up normally...

BTW-for starters:
The WD was runnin good today, gotta get a new battery.
I'm afraid I need to do a clutch, too.
The used Jeep xJ I just got only has a slight rattle, rockerarm or somethin, new battery fixed alot of problems on itl Cant wait to get started on the 48 CJ2A--any heavy stuff my neighbor or kids gotta do, but the 'tinkerin' part I can still handle, if I pace myself.
Guess I aint got time for a woman around anyhow, dog-gone-it.
