Yeah,I was a little surprised too. Just shows that there are no guarantees. I liked his singing the first time I ever heard him and always have since. I know that the man had some serious problems, but by golly, he sure could sing!

There was a line in a song, by Waylon, I think, that said something like, "If we could all sing like we want to, we'd all sound like George Jones". He was the standard.

Our family had a little country music bar and George played there regularly. I never got to meet him being to young but have grown up and old listening to his music.He could reach into your soul and pluck the strings of it. Like any huge talent can. When Willie nelson and Ray Price go a whole style of music will be lost. But I bet him and John R. and Tex and Waylon are having one heck of a reunion up there. Our loss is heaven s gain.
