Bean hay protein

I know there are lots of variables, but give me a rough idea of the protein content in bean hay. Last year when they didn't produce due to drought it was baled as a last resort. It was still a little green - it looks like alfalfa with bigger stalks. I had heard the protein should match alfalfa, but that seems suspect.

The cattle have been eating it mixed in with hay just fine. I am thinking about throwing some in the next time I grind hog feed for roughage. What is the protein like?

You'll have to look through the chart and guess what applies to your hay.

The nutritionist"s bible, Morrison Feeds and Feeding, circa a few decades ago: In bloom or before...12.0 digestible protein. Good SB hay, all analysis...9.8 DP. Weathered, poor quality...4.3 DP.
