O/T Rechargeable Flashlights

When I go to walmart I glance at the Stanley rechargeable flashlights sometimes wondering if they are good ones to buy.

Do any of you have any opinions which rechargeable ones are best for the money?

Thanks

Others are similar, including DeWalt, Hitachi, Makita. Jim

I have two Stanley lights, a large one and a smaller one, both with pistol grips. Large one is an excellent light. Small one has a knurled wheel for a switch---almost impossible to operate with one hand. Small one has a strong light beam, but it diffuses the light too much for my liking.

Walmart has things built to what they are willing to pay. I have found that their standards are lower then the expectations of the normal consumer of the name brand product is used to. So most of the name brands found in WM are not brands you will find in my house. I don't sleep with the enemy.

I figure I have owned a few of every brand of rechargeable out there and they all seem to last around a year before the capacity of the batteries drops off to the point of being useless.
Every spring I go out and buy a couple of them once they are on sale for half price and they serve there purpose checking the cows through calving season, if they last longer than that consider it a bonus.
I have tried the LED ones and they are not bright enough for my needs but they will last longer.

I have a Stream light I think is the brand, looks like a maglite,It is made of aluminun and comes with a 12 volt and a 110 volt chargers ant they are RUGGED they cost around a C note however not cheap but I have had mine over 5 years and it still works and Im hard on some of my toys

Check out DORCY flashlights. I had one given to me as a gift 12 years ago and it can go days without being on the charger.
I'm as supprised as anyone that it's still working but if I had to buy one to replace it, I think they've earned a repeat customer.

I have a crank one on my boat. They seem to work for a couple of years, then I end up cranking all the time to keep it working.

I have had three Stanley's over several years, and use them a lot. You do have to know what you want. Flood, Or Spot. I now have a 2M Series Spotlight and like it the best.

We've had a couple in the past. At best, they weren't very good. Ended up replacing the cell(s) on one, and it didn't last. These were the plug in-stay plugged in units which were supposed to keep their charge until they were needed. I finally threw 'em out. Got some good LED units, (fairly expensive), using AAA cells, and have never looked back.. Yeah, gotta replace the batteries from time to time, but....

I have a "Stick" light , a Sears product that the Wife bought at an Estate sale.. Was used then and i had it about three yrs, , When I need another one, Thats what i'll get... and last a Looong time between charges.. Larry KF4LKU

Not a flashlight but I bought a Blue Point rechargable trouble light about 5 yrs back. Would not be without it. Nice bright light, will work 4 hrs continuous,no stinking cords to mess with, really good under the dash, excellent magnetic base and swivel head. Around $80 Not a lot more than a GOOD corded light if there is such a thing

I like the desalt ones that you just charge whenever the battery dies, like the 18 volt ones, and I like how they make a spot for a extra bulb, one always seems to burn out at the worst time.

I gave up on the rechargeable ones. Got an LED Maglite with 3 C batteries last summer to keep in the barn, and that one is still going strong. How long it will last I don't know since I still have the original batteries in it.
